Getting started

Why you need to create a ScotAccount to use this service

Using ScotAccount helps keep your information safe and protects you against fraud.

You'll only be asked to share the minimum amount of personal information that is needed to access this service.

How to access the MyCare.scot service

You can access MyCare.scot online by signing up to view your health and care information.

Right now, only a small group of people can use MyCare.scot. This is because it’s a new service that we’re trialling. It will be available to more of the Scottish public soon.

You can only use this service if you’re a dermatology patient within NHS Lanarkshire.

If you're outside of this group, your health and care information will not be available to view in this service.

How secure this service is

When using this service, your information is protected by the same safeguards that are used for your health and care information generally.

How the service verifies your identity

MyCare.scot uses ScotAccount.

ScotAccount lets you access public services online. It's run by the Scottish Government.

If you have not used ScotAccount before, you will need to set up your ScotAccount. Find out how to set up and use your ScotAccount.

You’ll need to verify your identity to use this service. Find out how to verify your identity with ScotAccount.

If you can give others access to your account

You should not share your MyCare.scot account and sign in details with others. This is to keep your information safe.

If you need support with your health and care, contact the National Contact Centre (NCC) at 0800 030 8014.

How to make your password more secure

To create a secure password, we recommend using a combination of:

  • uppercase letters,
  • lowercase letters,
  • numbers,
  • and symbols

Your password must be between 9 and 64 characters long.

Do not use common words like 'password' or 'hello'. And do not use personal information like your name or date of birth in your password. These make your password easy to guess.

To change the email address or phone number used by MyCare.scot, you need to change them in ScotAccount. Take the following steps:

  1. Go to the ScotAccount Management page
  2. Select ‘Sign in’
  3. Select ‘Change your email, password or phone number'

  5. Save your updated contact details
  6. Sign in to MyCare.scot
  7. Go to ‘My account''

If we cannot verify your identity when signing up

If you're still having issues with verifying your identity, contact the National Contact Centre (NCC) at 0800 030 8014 so we can try to sort this for you.

If we cannot match your details to your health and care record when signing up

This may be because:

  • you did not agree to share all your ScotAccount information with the MyCare.scot service
  • your name, date of birth or address that you gave to ScotAccount do not match the information in your health and care record – check with your GP that this information is up to date
  • there is a problem with the service

We need to match your details to your health and care record for you to use this service. Check the information you provided is correct, and try again.
